AK Building & Asbestos is a family-owned construction company based in Canterbury. Owner and Director Andrew Kyburz has been in the construction industry since 1994.
Originally completing an Engineering apprenticeship, Andrew continued this learning through to an Advanced Diploma in Structural Engineering. After working in both Christchurch & Australia doing Structural Drafting Andrew returned to Christchurch in 2012, to take on a role Project Managing residential earthquake repairs.
Asbestos removal and hazard management were a large part of the EQ repair process. To better service their clients and keep tighter control over the full repairs process Andrew gained his Certificate of Competency as a Class A Asbestos Removal Supervisor, and managed all aspects of asbestos management and removal on a wide variety of projects.
After 25 years in the construction industry and with a wide and unique experience, Andrew started AK Building & Asbestos. Alongside a team of highly experienced tradespeople they provide high quality, great value repairs and renovations with a focus on works involving asbestos.
AK Building & Asbestos today remains a small, family-run construction company. We offer a small but highly skilled team that share the same core values, ethics and enthusiasm Andrew has, making us a tight team.
